The 651st chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Nassau, Bahamas Alumnae Chapter, was chartered on December 29, 1979. This chartering marked another milestone, as the Sorority's first international chapter in the English-speaking Caribbean.

Over the past 45 years, the Nassau, Bahamas Alumnae Chapter has made innumerable contributions to The Bahamas through its various programs and initiatives, including the Teen Unwed Mothers Program, which laid the foundation for the current PACE Bahamas, as well as partnerships with the Bahamas Red Cross Society, Salvation Army, Hands for Hunger, and the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure.

Our signature programs include the Senior Sizzle mental health program, Crimson 5K Walk/Run, Get Your Spike On Greek volleyball tournament, Power of the Purse Small Business Expo, and Social Action initiatives, such as DefendHer, a self-defense class and seminar. The chapter also contributes to youth educational development through the annual Dame Dr Doris Johnson and Bessie Mae Bowe-Rolle Most Improved Female Student Scholarship awards, as well as an annual scholarship awarded through the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year program.
